Mary Jacqueline (Coleman) Brown, age 71, of Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Roy Brown, with whom she shared thirty five years of marriage. Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late George and Mary Coleman, she was a life-long resident of the area. Mary was a Bar Manager at the American Legion Post #166 in Fairhaven for many years before retiring. She was a wonderful wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Mary Jacqueline (Coleman) Brown, age 71, of Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Roy Brown, with whom she shared thirty five years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late George and Mary Coleman, she was a life-long resident of the area.

Mary was a Bar Manager at the American Legion Post #166 in Fairhaven for many years before retiring. She was a wonderful wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Besides her husband she is survived by five children, Curtis, Lorraine, Amee, Michelle and Nicole; two step children, Duane and Donna Brown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, George and Richard Coleman; five sisters, Joyce Pacheco, Patricia Marshall, Georgette Kaleberg, Eleanor Herron and Jeannette Harrison; many nieces and nephews.

She was also stepmother of the late Roy Brown, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 6-8 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Funeral and burial will be private.
