Mary Ella Collins, age 84, passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2017. She was born to the late Oral X. and Althea Hollopeter (Cable) on October 24, 1932 in Westover, Pennsylvania.
Mary Ella, as she was known to those close to her, grew up in Big Run, Pennsylvania and returned often after moving to St. Clair Shores, Michigan where she raised seven children with her husband Dwain Collins. Mary Ella was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Stiles and sister Barbara Tyler. She is survived by her husband Dwain, daughters Linda (David) Stroshein, Deborah (Jerry) Smith, Kathy Collins (Joseph Giglia), sons Richard (Phyllis) Stiles, Michael (Denise) Collins, Terry (Jessie) Collins, brother Mervin (Nancy) Hollopeter, and dear aunt, Jean Thompson, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In her retirement, Mary Ella loved to visit her many grandchildren and great grandchildren in Michigan, Ohio and Florida, who brought her incredible joy and laughter.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 22nd at the Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48230. A second reception and memorial service will be held at the Shumaker Funeral Home, 107 W. Main St., Big Run, PA 15715 dates and times TBD, followed by a funeral service at McClure Cemetery in Big Run PA.

So very sorry for the loss of Mrs. Collins. I've known her and been neighbors with her my whole life! Both of my sons were hired by the Collins's to cut grass, rake leaves and remove snow. Not long ago she told me that she would get enjoyment watching my youngest son dance as he worked on her lawn!! We will all miss her dearly
