Obituary

Mary "Mae" DeToro, 90, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday April 10th at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mary was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy before moving to Toms River 15 years ago. Mae worked for the Perth Amboy Board of Education for 25 years retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River and formerly was extremely active in the parish of Holy Trinity Church in Perth Amboy. Mae was predeceased by her husband Louis "Red" DeToro and her grandson Robbie. Mary "Mae" DeToro, 90, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday April 10th at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mary was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy before moving to Toms River 15 years ago. Mae worked for the Perth Amboy Board of Education for 25 years retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River and formerly was extremely active in the parish of Holy Trinity Church in Perth Amboy.

Mae was predeceased by her husband Louis "Red" DeToro and her grandson Robbie. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Chirada of South Brunswick, Louis and Theresa of Howell, Gerald and Sharon of Howell, and Gary and Suzanne of Howell; a sister Helen Kozak of Toms River; a brother Frank Smarsch of Hamilton Twp and also survived by 9 grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday April 13th from 3 to 6 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River on Monday April 14th at 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
