Mrs. Fincher, daughter of the late James and Louisa Selph Hulett, was born in McRae, Georgia but lived her adult life in Macon. For over 50 years she was a devoted member of the former Cherokee Heights Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Fincher, and their infant son, Douglas Edward Fincher. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Fincher Bishop and Melvin Eugene "Gene" Bishop; granddaughter, Meredith Bishop Stiff and her spouse James Kevin Stiff; great granddaughters, Valerie Rose and Mary Margaret; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Fincher was owner and operator of Fincher's Pit Barbecue on Columbus Road which was founded in 1940. After her husband's death in 1974, she continued in the barbecue business until her retirement in October 1997 at the age of 80.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy in the form of donations be made in her memory to St. Joseph Angel Foundation, 1220 George C. Wilson Dr., Suite B, Augusta, GA 30909 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
