Loving mother, grandmother and friend, Mary Ann (Lipham) Fulmer, entered eternal life on Friday, April 4, 2014. Born in Clay County Alabama on June 5, 1933, she was the seventh of ten children born to Albert and Slonia Lipham. In 1952 she moved to Anniston AL in hopes of a brighter future. While raising two sons and a daughter, she worked alongside her first husband, Carl Thagard, in their family restaurant, Pop's Bar-b-q. After the death of her husband in 1973, she continued working in the restaurant business with close friends at Betty's Bar-b-q. It was there in 1983 she met and fell in love with Jack Fulmer. Mr. and Mrs. Fulmer resided in Eastaboga AL until his death in 2009. Mrs. Fulmer welcomed 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren throughout her lifetime and enjoyed spending every available minute she had with them.
Mrs. Fulmer is survived by two sons, Dennis Lipham (Angela), and Carl "Brad" Thagard (Ericka); and a daughter, Judy Thagard Johnson (Jimmy Nail); grandchildren, Phillip Lipham, Matthew Lipham (Shelley), Lee Bean (Carey), Rett Rasmusan, Gavin Thagard, Jacob Ralph, Carter Ralph, Karen Johnson, and Brandon Thagard; great-grandchildren Aiden, Noah, and Carley.
The family will receive friends between 6pm and 8pm, Monday, April 7, 2014. The service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 1pm. Both the viewing and the ceremony will be held at Gray Brown Service Mortuary 1329 Wilmer Ave, Anniston, AL 36201.
