Dear Kasper family, this Girl Scout song helps to express what I am feeling.
Hmmm, I want to linger.
Hmmm, A little longer.
Hmmm, A little longer, Here with you.
Hmmm, It's such a perfect night.
Hmmm, It doesn't seem quite right.
Hmmm, That this should be,
My last with you.
Hmmm, And come September,
Hmmm, I will remember,
Hmmm, Our Scouting days,
Of friendships true.
Hmmm, And as the years go by,
Hmmm, I'll think of you and sigh.
Hmmm, This is good night And not good bye.
Thank you Mrs. Kasper for being such a fine role model to your sister Girl Scouts and your community. I love you and I will miss you.

To the family of Mrs. Kasper - I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Kasper when I worked at Girl Scouts. She allowed me to do a story on her in March 2012 during Girl Scout Month. I also had the pleasure of meeting her husband and one of the sons. She was such a dear person and I'm so glad that I had the pleasure of meeting her. In honor of Mrs. Kasper, here's the link to the story I did in 2012:

My condolences to the family of Mary Ann Kasper. Mary Ann was my church friend. We got to know one another by engaging in conversation before mass at Immaculate Conception church. Every Sunday I would sit and chat with her. We shared our thoughts, our concerns, and even a few laughs. I will miss my friend, terribly.

My goodness, such a loss. I came to Western Reserve Girl Scout Council as a new staff member in January 1989 and I had no Girl Scout experience. Pathfinder (Ravenna) was one of the neighborhoods I worked with. That's where I met Mary Ann and she taught me so much about Girl Scouts. She and many other wonderful volunteers raised me in the organization and absolutely nurtured my love for Girl Scouting. Mary Ann was a tremendous blessing to me and so many others. I pray for comfort and peace for the family during this difficult time.

Where does one start to tell all the wonderful things Mary Ann has done in Girl Scouts. I Started as a trainer in 1979, I was only 32 years old and had a multitude of peers but Mary Ann stayed the longest. Her expertise was invaluable, her opinions heeded with great aplomb, her calmness lent ease to many a 'newbie'. Her trainings were fun and light as well as packed full of insight. When she retired from Scouting it put me in the title of "Old Lady of Trainers" one I would have given back in a heartbeat if she could have stayed with us. We missed her sorely and there will forever be a place in our hearts for MA Kasper.
