Obituary

Mary Mata, 73, of Lubbock passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Covenant Hospital. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, September 4th at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside funeral service will be at 10 AM on Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mary was born on December 7, 1938 to Birginio and Trinidad (DeLeon) Sustaita in Temple, Texas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Hope Mata and her father. Mary was a great mother and loved her grandchildren, she loved to visit Las Vegas and was truly the matriarch of her family. Mary was born on December 7, 1938 to Birginio and Trinidad (DeLeon) Sustaita in Temple, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Hope Mata and her father.

Mary was a great mother and loved her grandchildren, she loved to visit Las Vegas and was truly the matriarch of her family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 58 years, Raymond Mata; children, Susan Lares, Albert Mata, Sam Mata, Christina Martinez, Billy Mata and Denise Mata; mother, Trinidad DeLeon; sister, Julie Norris; brothers, Raymond and Chris Sustaita along with 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
