A Memorialization Gathering to celebrate Marje's life will be held Wednesday, 13 August, at 3PM, at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road (South of I-435).
When asked her DOB... Marje grinned and replied, "Nine, Two... Twenty Two"... then added, "Age is only a number, and mine's unlisted!"
From Pilot Grove, her mother moved four siblings to Sedalia. There she met Raymond Rash, a KATY railroader. They were married in 1944. Tom and Cynda Lee were born of their union. Due to Cynda's special needs, Marje became a co-founder of the Cerebral Palsy Center in Sedalia, and dedicated her life to volunteering with organizations in support of developmentally disabled citizens.
Kansas City became home in the late 50's, and by '65 she began a 50 year tenure of Thrift Store volunteering with over 50,000 hours being logged via: The Greater Kansas City Foundation in Westport, and Manor Thrift and The ARC, in Liberty. Her welcoming smile; and, never met a stranger personality, were endearing to customers and co-workers alike.
While conquering Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in '88... she was thrilled when Cynda was accepted at The Manor Group Home in Liberty, where she resided for 17.5 years. Marje actively supported the Auxilliary and served as President. After Tom cared for Cynda for 14 months, she was placed in a new, KC-Liberty, Provider Agency Home, established by The Austen-Dooley Co. of Lee's Summit. Marje was eternally grateful, knowing her Ward would, once again, receive quality care.
When Tom worked with George Toma and the KC A's, she became a fan, which carried over to The Royals. Her volunteering resulted in being selected to occupy the Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat, and she also won $900, when Mike Moustakas homered in the Sonic Slam inning of game 160 in 2011.
Marje was a lady of faith who taught Sunday School, and played leading roles in church Christmas pageants. For over a decade, she has supported The New Life Foundation (www.newlifefoundation.info) which includes LAR JOAO 3:16, an orphanage in Brazil. NLF's Board honored her by naming a recently constructed structure, The Marje RASH Pavillion. Memorials can be made to: NEW LIFE FOUNDATION, c/o Tim and Dee Sprecher, 710 Heather Row, Branson West, MO 65737-8461. Mom's heartfelt desire would be for all readers to be John 3:3 followers of her Heavenly Father, and to "graduate" as she did, in due season.
Ray pre-deceased Marje, and also her sister, Gertrude Meisenheimer, and brother, William Sedgwick. She is survived by sister, Lucille Rosenquist, of Lee's Summit. Special Blessings and Thanks to all medical personnel of both Liberty and North Kansas City Hospitals, along with Dr(s) Anderson and Stoddard of North Care Hospice House. Also to Dr. Karan Baucom of www.BAUCOMINSTITUTE.com for her loving, specialty support and care.

Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
