Mary L. Schmitt, 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at her home.
Mary was born on January 3, 1950 in Sheboygan to Clarence and Grace (Harcom) Schmitt.
She graduated from Sheboygan North High School.
Mary was employed at Ellingers Agatized Wood Inc until health issues forced her to retire.
She enjoyed fishing and spending time with loved ones in the family. Mary especially loved her cat, Zipper, her best friend.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Sandra (Larry) Jansen and Geraldine (Mike) Johnson; a brother, Mark Schmitt; a brother-in-law, Douglas DeGroff; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Schmitt; five nieces, Jacqueline "Angel" (special friend, Monty Rowan) DeGroff, Chrissy Jansen, Kim Schmitt, Gillian (Bob) Lettre, and Carla Rios; three nephews, Jack D. Schmitt, Derek DeGroff, and David (Lisa) Jansen; two great-nephews, Monty and Zeke Rowan; and many other great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Schmitt; a nephew, Brandon Muckerheide; and a niece, Carlene "Sissy" Jansen.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 4930 Green Valley Lane, Sheboygan. Rev. Ivan DeMaster will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Tuesday at church from 6:00pm until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Mary's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her landlord, Kelly, her caregivers that picked her up every Tuesday and Friday, Dr. Wescott, Dr. Carpenter, and Dr. Dy for the care and compassion shown to her.
