"Little" Mary Marjorie Teegardin

"Miss" Mary was born May 30th 1914 in Worthington, Ohio to Roy and Mary Wikle and grew up in Worthington and Columbus, Ohio.

She was her family's first college graduate, earning a bachelors degree from Ohio State University in English and French. She was a proud member of Chi Omega and was awarded the scholarship pin for best grades in 1936.

She was active throughout her life in Chi Omega, Panhellnic and several charitable organizations.

She met and married James Edward Teegardin at Ohio State in 1937, they were married in 1939 and relocated to California in 1946. She was the Chief Executive Homemaker for 77 years and a co-owner of Menda Scientific.

Throughout her life, "Mary T" had many interests. She loved fishing, travel, picnics, bridge, and parties. In her quiet time she was an avid reader and loved poetry, and literature, romantic films, watching football and golf and writing in her diary. She loved chocolate and enjoyed the occasional glass of wine.

She is survived by her daughter, Teri Elam; grandchildren: Eric and Paul Foster and Krista Cahill; and great grandchildren: Maddie Fae and Camila ; her doggie Volet La Fleur and hundreds of close friends.

She held a special place in her heart for her daughter, grandchildren and their families. She was their mentor, friend and confidant and maintained a close intimate relationship with them all until the very end.

Her life was a book filled with many chapters but in each she was often the hero, the counsellor, the lover, the nurturer, the optimist, benefactor, and always the friend.

She is an example to all and will be loved, missed and cherished for years to come.
