Mary Wallace Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2014.

Mary Annetta Wallace, 69 of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away July 6, 2014. Born in Kennett, Missouri on October 9, 1944, married Bobby Gene Wallace on December 29, 1960. Mary stayed home and raised her five kids until she and Bobby opened their own business in 1984. Bobby ran the shop while Mary ran the office. She worked until his passing in 2002, then took a job at Pep Boys in Grand Prairie, later transferring to the Irving store. She had a passion for turning trash into treasure. She could look at something and just know in her mind what she wanted to transform it into. She loved going to the drag races first with Bobby, then with her kids. She raised five kids, but had numerous people she considered her children, loving them all just as if they were her own. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Wallace, Sr., her parents Clarence and Opal Thompson, brothers, Bill, Leonard and Harold; sisters Janie Thompson, Medrith Thompson and brother-in-law Bill Ward. Survived by children Bobby Wallace Jr. and Felecia, Mary Wooley and husband Roy, Lisa Stepan and husband John, Scott Wallace and wife Katrina, Clint Wallace and wife Dena; grandkids, Brandon and Justin Wallace, Julie DeBaun, Callie Silas, Kyle Keeling, Tiffani and Morgan Wallace, Cale and Presley Wallace; great-grandchildren, Kalie and Brodie Wallace, Jhett Wallace, Emma DeBaun and Addison Silas; brothers Jim Thompson and wife Sue, Charles Thompson and wife Barbara; sister Lois Ward, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary has left the building. We both loved Elvis! Mary and I worked together at Pep Boys in GP where I came to love and admire this small, wiry woman of such tremendous inner strength, character, and good old common sense, and really fun to be with! She will always be special to me as she is to her family. I am glad I got to meet most of her children an grandchildren. To you, listen for her voice to continue to love and guide you. I will miss my friend greatly, but, watch for me, Mary, I'm not too far behind! Peace and Love.

Granny, I would first like to say "Thank You". Thank you for welcoming me into your family so many years ago and always treating me like I was one of your own daughters. I also want to thank you for doing such a wonderful job in raising your son that I am so blessed to call my husband. You have also been an amazing grandmother to my girls and for that I am eternally grateful. The twinkle in your eye and your infectious smile will certainly be missed by all of those that loved you or had the opportunity to know you. You had a special way of making everyone feel like they were "yours" whether it was a neighborhood kid, an employee at work or a friend at the race track and for that, you will always be remembered. You were definitely a strong woman that touched many lives. I have said it before and I will say it again, dynamite comes in small packages and I think that fits you. I find peace in knowing you are no longer in pain and are once again reunited with so many loved ones but that does not completely mend our broken hearts. I love you and miss you so!

Love you Net. You and I were BFFs all through school and then we became sisters after I introduced you to my brother. You were a wonderful wife and mother. I know Bobby was glad to see you again. You will be missed every day.
