Marybelle Quinn, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 1, 2017, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the church with a 6 p.m. vigil service.

Marybelle Hemping was born March 10, 1929, in Colo, Iowa to Henry and Irma Hemping. She grew up in Colo where she received her education. On October 1, 1948, Marybelle was united in marriage to John Robert Quinn. The couple was blessed with three children, Kathleen, Don, and Kelly.

Marybelle made her career as a secretary at Firestone Tire and Pioneer Lumber. She was a faithful member of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, and used her piano talents to serve many others. She began playing the piano as a child and continued throughout her life. Most of all, Marybelle treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Survivors include her children, Kathleen Campisi of Ankeny, Don (Lee Ann) Quinn of Ankeny, and Kelly (Linda Clearwater) of Des Moines; grandchildren, Shanda (Tim) Otten, Robert Ayala, Sarah (Josh) Seemann, Dan Quinn, and Austin (Heidi) Quinn; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, John Quinn.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice or Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church.
