Matthew Kane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2017.

Matthew Christopher Kane, 49, of Orleans, passed away peacefully August 9, 2017 at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Scituate, MA in the winter of 1967, Matt was the second son of Francis E. Kane and Carolyn Strakele. He was the loving brother of Carrie Kane, Sallie Kane, and Courtney Kane-O'Donnell; and was predeceased by his older brother, Michael Kane. Matt was immensely proud of his daughter, Amanda Kane for the loving family she built with Ben Harold and their two children, Sawyer and Sutton Harold. He is survived by the love of his life, Karen Doyle, many nieces and nephews, his step-father Bill Strakele, and many loved ones. Matt always had an intense love for the ocean, his family, friends, and the pets he shared his life with. He will be remembered for his big-hearted and gentle nature. A service will be held on August 24th at 4pm at Cape Cod Bible Alliance in Brewster. Directly followed by a Celebration of Life at The Elks Lodge in Eastham, MA. It was many years ago that Matt and I hunted for crabs on Peggotty Beach. Life sent us down different paths and the years added up. Still Matt you left us far too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. Peace. -Andy and Kate Mills, Bridgewater Ma

Since childhood, Matthew always lived his life "hard" He played hard and loved hard. This was one of the things I loved most about him. Yes, sometimes it would get him in a bit of trouble, but he lived his life just how he wanted to. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell, a hug to give. I don't remember a time when I was with him, that he didn't make me smile or laugh. I believe the angels came to spare him from suffering and to join all his love ones that passed before him. Prayers for his family that they may heal from this painful loss. I will miss him so much.
