Matthew Stuart "Stu" Cavell, 84, of Fort Wayne, died on October 20, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. The Evansville native was the son of the late Dr. Matthew C. and Dr. Jean M. Cavell. He was a prominent local business leader, a Jubilee Member of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, as well as a church trustee. He was past president of the Fort Wayne Ballet, he served on various boards in his community, and was a member of the Fort Wayne Country Club for nearly 50 years. He met Marge, his wife of 63 years as childhood friends at Walloon Lake, Michigan, and later attended Purdue University together. "He loved his family and golf followed by a good game of cards."
Stu is survived by his wife, Marjorie, and his family; Katherine Cavell, Steven (Leslie) Cavell, Nancy Bradtmiller, Sally (Michael) Fillbrunn, Carol Cavell, Matthew Cavell, Ann (Corey) Ehinger, Emily Cavell, Claire Cavell, Scott Bradtmiller, and Carlton Bradtmiller.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Monday October 22, at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, with calling from 1 to 3 PM prior to service, at the church. Memorial donations may be given to Trees Indiana and First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne
