Matthew A. Raimer, age 25, of Oceanside, CA and formerly of Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Matthew Allen "Alan" Raimer was born April 15, 1988 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Dan and Lesa Raimer. He was raised in Lancaster, WI until 1993 when his family moved to Hayward, WI. He attended school in Hayward and received his high school degree in 2007. Matthew joined the United States Marine Corp. on August 18, 2009. Matthew A. Raimer, age 25, of Oceanside, CA and formerly of Hayward, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

Matthew Allen "Alan" Raimer was born April 15, 1988 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Dan and Lesa Raimer. He was raised in Lancaster, WI until 1993 when his family moved to Hayward, WI. He attended school in Hayward and received his high school degree in 2007. Matthew joined the United States Marine Corp. on August 18, 2009. He served a tour in Afghanistan and was currently stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. While in the Marines he achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and was designated an expert rifleman. He enjoyed mudding with his truck, four wheeling, riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends. He loved to cook on the grill and spend time with his family. He was a superhero to his nephew, Owen. He will be remembered for his kind heart, willingness to help others, loyalty and humility. His easy going manner, warm smile and hugs from the heart will be missed by his family and friends.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Dan and Lesa Raimer of Hayward, WI; two sisters, Amber (Jeremy) Sherwood of Lone Rock, WI, Lacy (Stetson) Schwien of Mountain View, MO; one nephew, Owen Sherwood; four nieces, Elise Schwien, Naomi, Heather and Nicole Sherwood; grandparents, Don and Cecilia Raimer and Judy and Fran Buhmeyer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends that he considered family.

He was reunited with his little sister, Laticia; grandpa, Ron Sherman; uncles, Alan and Ken Raimer; and one aunt, Mary Roberts.

A time of gathering for Matthew will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 6th, at the Steakhouse in Hayward, WI. A time of sharing to celebrate Matthew's life will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Steakhouse.
