Mrs. Mattie Bell of New Bern, went home to be with Jesus on January 2nd, 2018.
She loved her family and greeted everyone with a hug. She shined her light for Jesus and loved to be with her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Bell, Sr. and grandson, Daniel Bell.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Bell, Jr. and wife Anita of El Paso, TX; daughter, Ida Wood and husband Charlie Wood, Sr. of New Bern; two grandchildren, Charlie Wood, Jr. and wife Kimberly of Lexington, SC and Joanna Bell of El Paso, TX; as well as two great grandchildren, Joshua Wood and Sarah Wood; and one sister, Golden Hudgins of Asheboro, NC.
A private service will be held at Greenleaf Memorial Park on Friday, January 12th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
A celebration of life will be held at CrossRoads Baptist Church, 1802 US HWY 70 East, New Bern on January 14th at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Buford Lewis officiating.
Flowers are welcome or donations may be sent to CrossRoads Baptist Church for the "Young at Heart" or to the Gideons International.
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
