Oh Belden family, I am so, so very sorry. I just received this sad news. Please know that Maureen will always be there as a part of you, and will live on in you and in your children, and your children's children.
A quote from Leo Buscaglia:
"I know for certain that we never truly lose the people we love when they leave. They continue to participate in every act, thought, and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find some comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love."
Sending all my support and love,
Marty

Your wife's and Mom's heart shone so brightly through her face. Her laughter was contagious. As a newer member of the Winter Women's Weekend Group, I heard many loving stories about Mo's family, and know her spirit is still with us. Still, the world lost a great light in the loss of Maureen.

July 22, 2014

Pat, Hugh, Henry, Eileen and Jack - We just learned of Maureen's passing and are overcome with sadness. We cannot imagine your loss. Mo was such a positive person and that spirit will never leave your home or your family. You have each other and your friends and family to hold you up through this time. She will never be forgotten. God bless her soul and all of you. With Love, Greg and Liz Graziano

To the Belden/ Kelley Clan… 7-9-14
Maureen touched our lives on this day and in our past,
her nurturing sensibilities charmed our hearts.

Often she would reveal a few of life's special lessons,
among them, love, friendship, compassion and giving to others.
Moe's presence was felt during the service, her infused sunshine smile
connected us to her life…

Thank you,

To Maureen's family, I am so sad to learn of her death. Maureen was one of the most creative, innovative teachers of nursing that I have ever known. When she taught 2nd year students in the University of Michigan School of Nursing, she was always looking for ways to bring the humanities into her teaching whether it be a video, a poem, a fiction or non-fiction reading --all in the name of creating enthusiasm for learning in her students. We shared many resources and had many discussions about teaching students. I missed her when she left the school, was devastated when she became ill but was encouraged by her spirit and her fighting endurance.
Knowing her, I expect she found peace as she made her final life journey. May you all be comforted by your memories of life with her. She was a very special person and friend to all. Blessings to you.

I feel so lucky to have known her. Maureen radiated peace, warmth, and wisdom, and her love for her family was palpable. But she was also hilarious, a great storyteller, skilled at laughing and at making other people laugh. She had such an easy, generous spirit. There are very few people in the world who can make you feel good just by walking into the room; Maureen was one of those.

To the entire Belden Family, Maureen was the epitome of Grace and love. I was one of her students in the early 2000's where Jack was a frequent (and beloved) visitor to lecture hall. Out of all of my instructors, Maureen was the first one to reach out and encourage and to throw you a smile when you needed it the most. She had an instrumental role in my returning to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. Maureen was truly one of the most beautiful spirits this world has ever had the joy of sharing. To Hugh, Henry, Eileen and Jack; Your mother was so fiercely proud of you. You were her greatest accomplishments in her lifetime, motherhood both challenged and fulfilled her. You can be assured that she will be smiling down and watching over you from beyond. My deepest sympathies on your loss.
