Maureen Bell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2013.

MAUREEN BELL
September 26, 1955 to September 16, 2013

Born Maureen Morris in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Maureen, with her family by her side, peacefully passed away following a brief battle with breast cancer at 57 yrs old.

Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soul mate of over 40 years, Tony, her daughters Natalie and Lisa, her four grandchildren, Kiaunne, Ciera, Alexandre, and Jhase, her mother Phyllis and stepfather Pete, brothers Michael and Steve, sisters Pauline, Shirley and Paulette, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church sisters and friends.

Maureen came to Canada in 1970 as a young teen, where she met her singing prince Tony, and they built a beautiful life together. Maureen loved the many lasting friendships she made at CIBC One Lombard, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a tenacious Lakers fan and loved gardening even after living with Parkinson's' for the past 13 yrs.

Maureen was a strong woman who always saw the best in everyone. She was extremely loving and compassionate to all she met. We will all miss and cherish her beautiful smile, comforting counsel, and loving advice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Society Canada in her honor.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday September 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple 440 Hargrave St. where she & Tony were married 38 years ago.

I looked back at the many Anniversary cards that you sent us over the years and smile. Touched by the spiritual words and encouraging messages that always lifted us up.

Maureen, although we will see you in heaven someday, we miss you now. Like the many blessings you shared with others, our blessings go out to all that are grieving and go with you as you reside with God.

Farewell Dear Sister-in-Law.

Although no words can really help to ease the heartache that your family feel, I pray that the care from all those who share your loss brings comfort and peace of mind to your family.

When I am dead, my dearest

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

My condolences to Tony and family. Maureen's smile, laugh, compassion, thoughtfulness, unselfishness, persistance, and steadfast strength even in times of trial: these things have inspired me from the first day we met and always will. May you find some peace in knowing that Maureen touched so many people in such a positive way.

My heart goes out to Tony and to Maureen's whole family as you grieve the loss of someone so precious to you.
Maureen was such a wonderful friend to me... so caring, encouraging and inspiring. She was a woman of faith and joy who loved the Lord, her family, church and friends fervently. I will miss her terribly, but know she is now with her heavenly Father, free of all suffering.
