Obituary

New Bern, NC Mavis Idell Clark Cisco passed away peacefully Friday evening on April 27th, 2012 at Carolina East Medical Center with her family at her bedside. A former native of Chocowinity, Mavis resided in New Bern for more than 60 years. She was employed with Stanley/Bosch for 30 years before she retired in 1992. Mavis was a member of Neuse River Baptist Church where she enjoyed hearing the ministry and loved the fellowship of the people there. She always gave donations to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and to the North Carolina Indian Children's Home. Mavis enjoyed gardening, cooking and going to Flea Markets. She was an...

Mavis Idell Clark Cisco passed away peacefully Friday evening on April 27th, 2012 at Carolina East Medical Center with her family at her bedside.
A former native of Chocowinity, Mavis resided in New Bern for more than 60 years. She was employed with Stanley/Bosch for 30 years before she retired in 1992.
Mavis was a member of Neuse River Baptist Church where she enjoyed hearing the ministry and loved the fellowship of the people there. She always gave donations to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and to the North Carolina Indian Children's Home.
Mavis enjoyed gardening, cooking and going to Flea Markets. She was an avid fan of baseball and loved to watch the Kinston Indian Games.
She is survived by two sons, James R. Moore, Jr. and Travis Cisco, Jr. and one daughter, Linda Moore Herrera, all of New Bern; two brothers, Ray Clark and Ruben Clark, both of New Bern; one sister, Lula Dixon Sawyer of Cary, NC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mavis had compassion for others. Everyone who knew her referred to her as "Mema". She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday April 30, 2012 at Cotten Funeral Home, burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
