Max Adams, 90, of Platteville, passed away at Hospice of Northern Colorado December 24, 2013. Max was born May 2, 1923 in Denoya, Oklahoma to James Alva and Trilla Mable (Lyman) Adams.

Max attended school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He married Lorraine Barnhart January 19, 1943 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska they spent 70 years together. They were married real young so they could raise each other to suit themselves. When Max was a young man he would work a team of horses digging basements and odd jobs. He retired as a truck driver in 1980. Max enjoyed going to farm sales, working on his pick up trucks and loved restoring his 1953 dump truck; he shopped at salvage yards which was an all day event – he would go from one end to the other. When Lorraine would go with Max, she knew to take the paper to read and crocheting to do. Max also enjoyed going to Black Hawk. Max was loved by his entire family and will be greatly missed.

Max is survived by his wife Lorraine; a daughter, Donna Jerger (David) of North Glenn; three grandchildren, Jimmy Howard Stills, Jr. (Sherl) of Keenesburg, Ronald Dale McGraw, Jr. (Becky Grossman) of Littleton, Christine Marie Evans (Rusty) of Fairplay; eight great grandchildren, Amanda Stills, Nichole Power (Nate), Jessica Hanvey (Michael), Jaqueline McGraw, Trevor Evans (Natalie), Savannah Evans, Adam McGraw, Austin Felice; four great great grandchildren, Kayleen McGray, Skylar Power, Wade Evans, Jackson Hanvey; four sisters, twin sister, Maxine Weaver of Scottsbluff, NE, Lisa Adams of Federal Heights, Carol Lablanke (Dick) of Hot Springs, SD, Faye Shell of Westminister; one brother, Jimmy Adams (Barbara) of Jacksonville, FL; two brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws.

Lorraine, I love you and Max so much! I never had grandparents growing up and when I took the job working for the pulmonary clinic 18 years ago, God told me I would be blessed by having a multitude of grandparents. I've had the pleasure of caring for you and your beloved husband, but I want you to know where you always were held...in my heart. I know Max is now with our Heavenly Father, joined with my grandparents; in eternal love. We will all be together again. For that, I am ever grateful to our Savior. My deepest condolences to you Lorraine. We will all miss your gentle and kind husband. Much love to you. Shannon Tetiva (Pulmonary clinic)
