Maxine was born on July 22, 1929 in Buffalo, Montana. She was raised in Shelton, Washington and graduated from Shelton High School. Maxine graduated in 1949 from Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing and began a life-long career in nursing. She returned to studies in 1979 and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Maxine married Gordon Jacobsen on October 20, 1950. In addition to her career in nursing and raising a family, Maxine traveled extensively. She and Gordon visited over 100 countries and often enjoyed holidays in Hawaii. Maxine was a loyal UW Husky fan. She and Gordon attended 49 years of UW Husky games. She always wore her...
Maxine was born on July 22, 1929 in Buffalo, Montana. She was raised in Shelton, Washington and graduated from Shelton High School. Maxine graduated in 1949 from Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing and began a life-long career in nursing. She returned to studies in 1979 and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Maxine married Gordon Jacobsen on October 20, 1950.
In addition to her career in nursing and raising a family, Maxine traveled extensively. She and Gordon visited over 100 countries and often enjoyed holidays in Hawaii. Maxine was a loyal UW Husky fan. She and Gordon attended 49 years of UW Husky games. She always wore her favorite color: "Husky Purple". Maxine was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.

She and Gordon lived at The Garden Club Retirement Community in Bellevue, Washington. She was ever appreciative of the love and support of that community.

Maxine died peacefully at home surrounded near and far by loving family and friends, her husband of 62 years by her side. She was grateful for Hospice making this final wish possible. Maxine is survived by her husband, Gordon; children Cheryl Jacobsen, Judith Jacobsen, MD, and Michael Jacobsen, son-in-law Honorable William D. Johnson and daughter-in-law Danielle Sinclair; grandchildren Jake Johnson, Kyle Johnson and Rachel Johnson. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Ristine, her sister Dolores Thomas (Robert), and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was loved by her family and many wonderful friends whose prayers and supportive thoughts were a blessing to her during her illness.

Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery and a Service for the Celebration of Maxine's Life will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at one o'clock p.m. at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church, 2650 ~ 148th Avenue, S. E. Bellevue, Washington. Reception immediately following the Service.
