Obituary

Maynard J. "Spud" Belt, 64, of Horse Creek Park Road, Chuckey, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2012 at James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee. He retired from Altrista. Mr. Belt was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Helen Belt; daughter: Carla Gosnell and special friend Doug Smith of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Kristin Belt of Greeneville; grandchildren: Buddy Gosnell, Amber, C.J. and Shania Belt, Cullen Pierorazio, and Journey Wills, all of Greeneville; mother: Delphia Seaton...
Maynard J. "Spud" Belt, 64, of Horse Creek Park Road, Chuckey, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2012 at James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee.

He retired from Altrista.

Mr. Belt was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.

He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Helen Belt; daughter: Carla Gosnell and special friend Doug Smith of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Kristin Belt of Greeneville; grandchildren: Buddy Gosnell, Amber, C.J. and Shania Belt, Cullen Pierorazio, and Journey Wills, all of Greeneville; mother: Delphia Seaton of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Jeraldean and Joe Shaw of Greeneville; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Don Belt and Allen and Barbara Belt of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Belt Sr., and his brother, James Michael Belt.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service preceding the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Leonard Cutshaw and Rev. Gene Swatzell will officiate.

Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. It is requested that family and friends that would like to join the family for the committal service, meet at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.

His pallbearers will be friends and family.
