Filer, Idaho
Mearl W. Row
May 5, 1920 – March 31, 2015
The King of Cowboys has saddled up and left the barn.
Mearl was born in St. Anthony, Idaho. He left home at a very young age and became a cowboy. These were the morals and standards he lived his life by.
He worked for several different ranches from Wyoming to Arizona. He spent most of his younger years with the UC Cattle Company in Nevada. He married Christina Beaton in August of 1951 in Elko, Nevada. Together they built Valle Vista Ranch in Three Creek. They kept the ranch until 1995 when they finally decided it was time to retire. They stayed out there until Chrissie's health forced them to move to Filer in 1999.
Mearl was well known for his horses and wagons and knowledge of the land and its history. Mearl and Chrissie were lifetime members of the 71 Livestock Association where they were both awarded the "Million Miles in the Saddle" award. They were also both inducted into the Southern Idaho Cattleman's Hall of Fame.
Mearl was preceded in death by both parents, all of his siblings, wife Christina and a great granddaughter. He is survived by his son, Neil; grandchildren, Christina and Mike, Viki, Bandette, Brannen; sister in law, Virginia and several nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.
Mike and Tina would like to give special thanks to Sharon Faulkner, Phil and Mary Norris for all the help and everything they have done. Bob Ramsey, thank you for being his one closest dearest friend. Another word of thanks to Bart Wilson, Rodger Tiffany and to our wonderful Hospice people, Terri and Chaunte.
A celebration of Mearl's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Services are under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
