Melvin C. Lovata, 73, of Gill died December 22, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Melvin was born May 23, 1939 to Christopher and Laura (Walker) Lovata in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
After High School, Melvin became a Master Electrician (Engineer) and worked for numerous companies including Basin Electric and Goldco Industries Inc.
On November 18, 1978 he married Bernice M. Praus in Dickinson, ND. Melvin was a loving and caring husband of 34 years. Family and friends were very important in his life. Melvin enjoyed movies, playing cards, camping, fishing and hunting. He had a sincere love for his animals. Melvin had a radiant smile and always had a story to tell. He was giving and caring. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for somebody.
Melvin was a member of the Eagle's Lodge in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 25 years.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Leslie; two sons, Phillip and Richard; sister, Genevieve Ford; brother, Norbert (Joan) Lovata; brothers-in-law, Paul Tyler, Larry Praus, Andrew and Paulett Praus, David and Kathy Praus, Kenneth and Marla Praus all of Dickinson; Julius and Vickie Praus of Henderson, NV; Leo and Janice Praus of Richardton, ND; Gilbert Praus and Nancy Bleth of Bismarck, ND, Louis Praus of Salt Lake City, Utah and Vincent Praus and Ron Mase of Denver; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Binstock of Mandan, ND, Darlene and Gerald Frederick of Richardton, Donna and Bob Jilek of Fargo, ND and Linda and Tom Stockert of Mandan and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Tyler; brothers, Christopher, Jr. and Walter Lovata; brothers-in-law, Marvin and Joseph Praus and Ray Binstock.
Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Stoddard Funeral Home.

would come to visit, every morning the whole family would sit down to a big breakfest and enjoy each others company.
