Obituary

SHULL, Melvin Scott (Sonny), 73 of Prattville, passed away Thursday October 10, 2013. The family will receive friends at Ridout's Chapel Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 3:00 PM from Ridout's Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Shull was born August 20, 1940 in North Carolina to the late Jesse Murle Shull and Mary Elizabeth Shell Shull. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and retired after many years of service. Mr. Shull was born August 20, 1940 in North Carolina to the late Jesse Murle Shull and Mary Elizabeth Shell Shull. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and retired after many years of service. His overseas postings included tours of duty in Vietnam and Guam. Mr. Shull was also very active in the Scouting program for many years. He had many hobbies and interests which included, cooking, working crossword puzzles, listening to and participating in talk radio programs, watching old westerns and classic movies, and he was an avid animal lover. He is survived by his son, Michael Shull of Prattville; a sister, Murlene Sellers of Charlotte, N.C., a close friend, Mike Renegar. In memory of Mr. Shull, contributions may be made to the Autauga / Prattville Humane Society, 1009 Rueben Road, Prattville, Alabama 36067.
