Merrill Neil Werblun passed away in Henderson NV on October 26, 2013 at the age of 78. Merrill is survived by his wife Jackie of 35 years and  is lovingly remembered by his children, Jeffery Werblun, Michael Werblun, Lisa Hensley, Stacy Meisenhelter, and Mark Payne, as well as 14 wonderful grandchildren, one sister Roberta Mintz, and many friends. Merrill was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 27, 1935 He was a 1957 graduate of Tufts University and a 1961 graduate of the medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. . Merrill is survived by his wife Jackie of 35 years and  is lovingly remembered by his children, Jeffery Werblun, Michael Werblun, Lisa Hensley, Stacy Meisenhelter, and Mark Payne, as well as 14 wonderful grandchildren, one sister Roberta Mintz, and many friends.



Merrill was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 27, 1935 He was a 1957 graduate of Tufts University and a 1961 graduate of the medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. . Dr. Werblun was in private practice in Woodland, CA and in Ridgecrest, CA until 1975. He was a life member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Werblun held numerous faculty positions with the UCLA School of Medicine, the University of Washington, the University of California Irvine, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and the University of Hawaii. He held a number of academic and hospital positions, was recognized for numerous academic achievements, and authored many peer-reviewed journal articles. He achieved national recognition as an expert in addressing medical staff issues, and was often asked to present on credentialing and privileging trends and strategies. In addition to consulting, Dr. Werblun has been a physician surveyor with HFAP since March of 2005.



In Merrill’s spare time, he loved to use his photography skills. He took pictures of nature and beauty as he viewed it, adding his own special touches and creativity. Merrill also loved to take individual pictures of family and build them into a group representation. He loved to envision family together, all smiling and happy.



Family and friends will be having a Celebration of Life Memorial for Merrill at a future date, honoring and celebrating the life of their beloved husband, dad, and friend.
