Michael Conor Anderson was born in Suffolk, England on November 26, 1989 and passed away in Elk Grove, California on November 23, 2013 at the age of 23.
Michael attended services and Sunday School at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Atwater from 1991-1997. He also attended church and Sunday School at Holy Grounds Ministry in Turlock in 1998. He was a member of the Awana Club at Evangelical Free Church of Merced from 1998–2000. He became a member of the youth group at Planada Gospel Lighthouse and received his Baptism there in 2004, after making the decision to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He joined a Chess Club, track team, and played in the basketball team for the Planada School District. He later played basketball and football for Le Grand High School. After graduating from Merced High School on June 6, 2007, he played basketball for Merced Recreation and Parks. Michael joined the Army National Guard in October of 2008, where he served as an Aircraft Technician and recently returned from a nine month tour in Afghanistan. Michael would have turned 24 on November 26th. The Army National Guard was to send him for special training in January of 2014. He has recently been promoted to Sergeant and has received ribbons and medals, including a Military Merit medal awarded for 250 in-country flight hours. He had aspirations of becoming a pilot one day. Michael enjoyed serving his country, sports and working out at the gym. He was artistic, musical and loved people. He was close with and supportive of his family, and he had made many good friends. He was born and died together with his twin brother, Robert.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Rick Witter; grandma, Dorothy Witter; uncle, Ronnie Anderson; grandma, Katie Anderson and grandpa, George Anderson.
He is survived by his father, Willie James Anderson; mother, Lorraine Carol Anderson; sisters, Tarsha, Jennifer, Vanessa and Jesseca; and brother, Marcus Anderson; sister-in-law, Ashley Anderson; nephews, Carter and Max Anderson; aunts, Carolyn Crawford, Debra Kirkwood and Annie Anderson; and uncles, Martin Witter, Melvin Anderson, George Anderson Jr., and Anthony Anderson.
Funeral Services were held at Stratford and Evans Merced Funeral Home on December 2, 2013.
