Michael John Bogle, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed from this earth on Friday, March 8th. Born in Houston, Texas, the son of Norman and Sharon Bogle, he was affectionately known as Mikey. His warm smile, twinkling eyes, caring heart, and great sense of humor made him instantly likeable by most, and loved by many. Michael loved to express himself through painting, drawing, and writing poetry.
He had a fondness for the outdoors, and took every opportunity to go fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, or engage in any other activity that brought him closer to nature.
At age eight he became a resident of Boys and Girls Country and received the care, support, and guidance every child needs. He developed many lifelong friendships with other residents and staff members. Their encouragement helped Michael grow into a well-rounded young man.
After graduating from Waller High School, Michael joined the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country from 2007-2009. In 2010 he attended the Culinary Academy of Austin, where he fine-tuned his love for cooking. He developed many new friendships in Austin and had a profound, positive effect on everyone he met. His passion for cooking, music, movies and art were exhibited in every aspect of his life.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Bogle. Mourning his loss is the love of his life, Catherine Palmer; his father, Norman Bogle; his sister, Alicia Bogle; and his brothers Jason and Darrell Bogle. Michael also had a support family who are grieving his loss, including parents Craig Andreas and Tracey Urban, sisters Krysten Urban and Ashley Johnson, and brother Michael Urban.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 17th at Forest Park - The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. Donations can be made in memory of Michael to Boys and Girls Country of Houston www.boysandgirlscountry.org . St. Patrick's Day was Michael's favorite holiday, so please wear green respectfully in his honor on Sunday.
