Michael Crocco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 4, 2016.

Michael Anthony Crocco III born on March 19, 1995 died too soon on September 2, 2016 of a heroin overdose. Michael fought substance abuse for 5 years of his short life. He experienced periods of success, during which he was fully himself; a kind, smart, compassionate, sensitive and generous young man. In life, one little decision can make a huge impact not just on you but also those that love and care for you. Michael had everything a young man could want. But once drugs took control in his life they changed him, destroying so much of the hope and promise in his future. Ultimately he lost his battle, and is now another heartbreaking reminder of the heroin epidemic in this country. He is pre-deceased by his father Michael Crocco Jr. and survived by his mother Barbara Talerico, his brother Lenny Talerico (his wife Tina, and beautiful nieces Bella and Scarlett) as well as his sisters Colleen Crocco and Jill Crocco. Michael had many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he thought of as family. He will be remembered Saturday September 10, 2016 at Kraeer Funeral Home 200 N Federal Hwy Pompano Beach FL with visitation from 1-4pm and the service from 4-5pm.

Dear Barbara, Gina told me about the loss of your beloved son. You have had such tragedy in your life but the loss of a child is certainly the ultimate tragedy. I must commend you for telling the public about your son's disease of addiction. It was a brave and noble thing to do. It must be so sad seeing one's child lose his life to this horrible disease. I hope that you can somehow find strength in remembering Michael during his young loving years. May God bless you and keep you.
Love, Marie Tinelli Viti

There are no words that I could say to make you understand the magnitude of sadness that I have for this loss! I will forever remember Michael in the sun in the sand building sand castles and eating noodles and butter! What a golden child he was to everyone. My very sad condolences to you and your entire family! May he rest now with his dad the way that he always loved it. As I think of that memory from years ago sitting at the sandy shoes by the ocean and he said.. I love you da da.. I love you too... Rest in peace.
