Michael Clyde Holland, age 70, of Nebo, NC died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC.
Mr. Holland was born December 20, 1942 in McDowell County, NC to the late Clyde Holland and Jessie Taylor Holland. He was a member of Trinity Hill Free Will Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer for more than 24 years. Mr. Holland enjoyed genealogy. He wrote a book about the Holland family and had it published. He also loved history and travel especially anything to do with presidents.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Finley and his nephew, Christopher Owensby.
Surviving Mr. Holland are his wife, Alma McGee Holland of the home; his son, Donnie Holland and wife, Belinda of Marion, NC; his daughter, Annette Clontz and husband, Gregory of Morganton, NC; three grandchildren, Mackenzie and Maddison Holland and Victoria Owensby; a special niece, Pam Price; and a special great-niece, Heather Price.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jerry McClain and Rev. Davin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
