Mr. Michael Alan Matheson, age 54 of Jackson, Georgia passed away August 10, 2014. Mike was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to Dorothy Marie Trueblood Matheson and the late Shulyar Leroy Matheson. He was a firefighter for the Henry County Fire Department and had attained the rank of Lieutenant. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping and spending time at the beach. Mike will be greatly missed by his family, friends and fellow firefighters. Survivors include his wife, Leila Matheson of Jackson; daughter and son in law, Karey and Justin Pitner of Jackson; granddaughter, Jenna Matheson; grandson on the way, Bryson Michael...

Mr. Michael Alan Matheson, age 54 of Jackson, Georgia passed away August 10, 2014. Mike was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to Dorothy Marie Trueblood Matheson and the late Shulyar Leroy Matheson. He was a firefighter for the Henry County Fire Department and had attained the rank of Lieutenant. Mike enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping and spending time at the beach. Survivors include his wife, Leila Matheson of Jackson; daughter and son in law, Karey and Justin Pitner of Jackson; granddaughter, Jenna Matheson; grandson on the way, Bryson Michael Pitner; mother, Dot Brice of Stockbridge; siblings, Aubrey “Matt” Matheson of Stockbridge, Chris (Richard) Mock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wayne (Anne) Matheson of Selma, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Randy Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
