Our group at Johnstone will truly miss Mike , we have gotten very attached to his fun personality and wonderful sense of humor, every time he has come in the store he has had a smile on his face and a fun story or joke for all. We will miss this ray of sunshine.

There are probably not many more things to say about Mike that hasn't already been said. His laugh, smile and gift of gab were his signature. You could rely on Mike no matter how long you knew Mike, it felt like forever. His heart was open and those that he chose to let in his life closer than some, knew that he hid some of his hurts and struggles with his laughter. It was hard to stay upset with Mike if he showed up late for something important, because his infectious personality seemed to bring light, hope and of course laughter. MIke was a very smart man, that tried to do the right thing, especially for all of his children and his grandchildren. He loved each of you and cared about each of you with your own special place in his heart forever. I thank you for sharing Mike and lending him to this world for the time intended. Find peace, and comfort and know that he will live in my heart and many others forever. MH

Words cannot express how saddened I am over Mike's death. He was an amazing man with an easy smile and made friends with all he came in contact with. He was smart and funny, and a talented man who knew his craft well. He will be missed dearly and forever be in my heart. Rest easy with God, Mike, and "ride free" in Heaven.

I've known Mike for many years. He was my best and most dear friend. He was one of the most warm and kind hearted people I have ever known. I will and do miss him greatly. A small piece of me has gone with him.

I'm friends with Mike's Daughter Melanie. If Mike was outside when I would pick her up he would always come over and talk to me and give me some advice. He would thank me for helping her out and being a good friend to her. I know he is going to be missed and that he was loved by his family. Melanie tells me stories about him and I enjoy hearing about him. Prayers and thoughts and hugs to all.

I've been friends with Samantha, Mikes daughter for some years & was fortunate enough to be welcomed into his home many times for dinner or just to hang out. He was a great dad & loved his kids. Samantha & I would always drive around in her little ford car & her dad was always there to fix it so we could be out getting into trouble haha. Last time I saw mike was at the Walmart near both our homes & he was still just as sweet as ever! I feel very fortunate to have met him & been friends with Samantha.

I'll be forever grateful for you because you helped give the world one of my very best friends. All my love to you and your family. Rest in peace.

I wish I had known Michael, the adult. But, I only have childhood memories. Mostly funny. I see a boy running across a field of dandelions, his leg swinging in a brace, with a big grin on his face.

I worked with Mike at the California Conservation Corps in the mid 1980s and had not seen him in many years. He was a fun guy to work with and always had a good joke and loved his family. He was a good man.

Mike loved his family and bragged about his kids and grandchildren. He was smart, funny, loving, heroic, daring. A regular superhero. I wanted Mike and Tim so much. I wanted twin brothers. I will always remember the day they were born. I am missing Mike so much.-Nancy

I am very sorry to see that Mike has passed away. Mike was my supervisor when I was in the California Conservation Corps in 1988. He was a joy to work with and provided me life guidance that helps me to this day. He was our fearless leader and I am so glad I ran in to him again just a few years ago and was able to spend time with him. He was a smart, funny person who I loved very much.
