Mike was so dedicated to band at Santa Fe Trail and Olathe North. He worked harder than most and gave more than most. As a teenager I didn't appreciate that, but as an adult, I can honor his efforts. Salute!

Mike, I am at a loss for words. I will always remember you as the joke telling, trumpet playing , storm chasing and life loving man you were. May you entertain the angels in heaven. RIP

Mike was always a good friend to me. He used to take Me & his sister Christine for rides in his car to go get fast food when we were all teens. He used to make me smile & tell goofy jokes, I will always have good memories of Mike growing up next door to him. My heart goes out to his family at this time of deep sorrow.

I'm sorry I will not be able to attend his services, but I wanted to share my favorite memory of Mike.
I was going through a life threatening heath scare. Mike didn't know what I was going through, he just knew I was depressed and dealing with something that was bigger than me. He talked me into going on a road trip with him, and I'm so glad I did. I had so much fun that weekend and forgot about everything at home. He had my mind off my problems the entire time. We were either laughing or in deep conversation about other things.
I always thought Mike would be around forever. I could even picture him sitting on a porch telling stories as an old man. He was AWESOME at storytelling.
There was never a dull moment Mike. I guess that's why he chased Tornado's. He was a good Tornado (if there could be such a thing.) But now everyone is dealing with devastation, because he is gone, and cherishing the moments that he left behind.
Condolences to all of his family and friends and thank you for sharing Mike with me.
