Shelly was more than a friend. She was a gift. She was a natural at giving encouragement to those around her. Her life was a garden of kindness and energy. Her time, her talents, and her creativity were a blessing to Upward Bound as she prepared garden plans for a sensory garden for people with disabilities to experience. She chaired the Garden Committee, built a memorial garden at camp and gave hours of volunteer labor to create beautiful landscapes for renewal and meditation. She will be missed but her gardens will long speak of her presence. We are honored to be among the many she called friends.

So sorry to hear about Shelley... what a wonderful lady. We worked in the same state office for over 20 years certifying and licensing EMTs, paramedics and ambulances. We had fun times at office parties, retirements and other events. With deepest sympathy from my wife, Sandy, and myself at this difficult time. As the saying goes, "Always remember the good times and smile".

Shelley: we shared so much since we met. I think we talked about everything from A to Z and then some. Whether it was during good, bad, sad or fun times, we were always there for each other. I enjoyed talking about all the books we were reading and wanted to share, all the silly TV shows we just had to watch, trips being planned and of course what all of our family members were up to. I have so many memories, from Ladies' Day, lunch and crafts at the Madsen farm or just chit chatting on the phone and hanging. I always remember after I moved into my house, you would say yard work isn't fun that's work, but gardening is fun because you get to create your own art and watch your garden grow to be colorful and enjoyable. I will miss all of our good times, but most of allI will miss you.

who was shelley shute

shelley shute was not just my mother, but my best friend, the one person I can truly say was alway's there for me ,she never judged me, she alway's forgave me if I made a mistake,if I fell down in life she was alway's there to pick me back up and help me threw it, her unwavering love was a blessing that probably few people ever have the chance to experience in there lifetime ,that I will always be iternally grateful for,who was shelley shute ,the best person I 've ever known, the person I hope one day I can be as close to a good a person as ,the person I've loved since the day I was born as my mother and will till my death and all eternity, you were and still are the best mother any man could of ever had or hoped for,I hope one day I can make you as proud of me as I 've alway's been of you,I will miss you more than I could ever express in words, but in closing I would just like to say,I love you ,I'll never stop missing you,and thank you for making me the man I am today ,I owe it all to you and the love that you gave me,our souls will be forever intwined as mother and son

I first met Shelly was when I was serving on the State EMS Committee. I felt so out of place coming from rural Oregon to the "big" city. Shelly made me feel welcome. Later working in the EMS office I knew if I needed something I could call Shelly and she'd have an answer. Shelly treated everyone with respect. I am so glad she retired early and had some time to travel, she really loved traveling.

Shelly impacted so many across the State of Oregon during her tenure with Oregon EMS. I am deeply saddened by her loss, but can say what an honor it was to have known her these last many years. I still recall all of the times I would call Shelly to get a question answered, and she never let me down. Godspeed our Friend, you will be missed.

It was an honor working with Shelly at the Oregon EMS office for three years. I most recently got to visit with her during Donna's retirementshe had us all roaring with laughter with some of the stories she told about the old days! She will be forever in my heart.

Shelley, you always put others before you, always worried about their feelings and fretted over the happiness of others. I loved how you loved your family and friends so much. You were a delightful spirit and I will miss you. When I see a beautiful flower, or a sunset on the beach, I will think of you. Thank you for your friendship.

I guess this means it's real. Save me a seat in eternity, should be a wonderful show. It's still intermission for the rest of us.
Love you Grandma.

It was always nice to see Shelley around. I particularly remember her at the party for relatives in the summer of 2013. She had a nice smile.

Ahh, Shelley. I have been blessed by your friendship over the past 24 years. Your positive, friendly, loving nature has been such a gift to everyone. I have appreciated your sense of humor and when I think of you, I hear your laughter. Your love for your family and friends has always been such a part of you, as has your love of gardening. I miss you.

Shelley..I will miss calling you on your birthday (the day after mine). I will miss your laughter and stories about family and admired the way you handled some of the crappy things that were thrown at us. You always listened and someone I could relate to. Friends are hard to find and harder to lose. I will grieve with your family in this time of sorrow.
