I had the pleasure of working with Michelle during my time as Deputy Director of Business Engagement at DOES.
In an agency with lots of turnover, and, at times, turmoil, Michelle was always smiling. If there was an award for the most consistent team member, she would win it every time. She diligently performed her duties day after day with precision and attention to detail. She was both thorough and timely. She never complained, even when the workload piled up or a deadline was looming.
What I will remember most about Michelle is how pleasant she was. She was a kind and thoughtful member of team. She greeted everyone with a radiant smile. Whether she knew you on a personal level or not, you could not help but feel drawn to her. Her positivity and gentle nature was uplifting. I looked forward to seeing her each day, even if just to exchange hellos.
I feel blessed to have had an opportunity to know her and work alongside her. The news of her passing affected me deeply. She will be missed.
I extend my deepest sympathies to all of her loving family and friends. Thank you for sharing her with her DOES work family. I pray that God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Those of us who knew and shared long or short moments with Michele readily realize that we had received a true blessing from God. She always greeted one with her gift of seeing the world from the "glass is half full" side of life followed by an infectiously pleasant smile. I and all of those who were so fortunate will be forever grateful and changed for having our lives so enlightened by such a sincere kind and gentle spirit. She truly will never, ever be forgotten. Peace and blessings to her family, many friends and associates.

I worked with Michele (approximately 18 years or more) at The D.C. Department of Employment Services. Michele always had an upbeat and positive demeanor and greeted people with a warm smile. As a co-worker, Michele was a professional employee and she was always willing to work as a team. I will always cherish the fond memories I have of Michele while employed at DOES. I thank God for placing her in my life. Praying that God will comfort the family.

I am in total disbelief about Michele passing. As I remember her courageous smile in high school (BTW68 Band as our Drum Major) she was truly an inspiration for everyone who knew her, that beautiful smile I can see on her face right now. Michele was a unique person with so much class. My sincere condolences to her family may God continue to bless you and give you strength during your bereavement .

Michele was my "microwave buddy" when we worked together on H Street. Often in the morning or afternoon we would meet, by happenstance, at the microwave and have a chit-chat while waiting for our beverage or food to warm. She never failed to greet me with a kind word and that oh so infectious smile. It was truly my privilege to have known Michele and always a pleasure to have worked with her. May God continue to bless His new angel and the family and friends left to mourn her passing and, more importantly, celebrate her life.

I know we all have to go when its our time; but I can't believe Michelle is gone. And, seeing her early in the week, in her usual friendly/energetic state, I would never have imagined that would be my last time seeing her. I can still see her walking down the hall, in the fast-paced motion, going about the business at hand....always speaking, always smiling, and asking about my little ones. The last thing she said was "girl I haven't seen you in a month of Sundays...good to see you". Those words and sweet memories of her will stay with me forever. Jeannette Williams, DOES

Michele was a member of the
Booker T. Washington Class of 1968. As the school's drum major, she represented the school, and her class, with pride, dignity, and talent! I can see her now... stepping high and leading a "Heavenly Band! Her presence, style and smile will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy and "BOOKER SPIRIT & PRIDE" will live on forever.

I knew Michelle from 3rd grade through high school in Norfolk, VA. One day, a few years ago I was walking through the Minnesota Ave. Metro Station to take the subway to work and saw Michelle. We chatted for a while and from that point we would occasionally see each other at the station when were going to and from work. Whenever I saw her she would always flash that great smile. She was a drum major for Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk and everyone loved watching her when the band performed in parades. I think she was a pioneer because that was the first time that I had seen two drum majors for the band and also of both genders. She will definitely be missed by her family and friends.

Michelle was a very nice person. I enjoyed watching All My Children at 500 C Street. Whenever I saw her there was always a smile upon her face. She is now resting with a smile as she enters the gates of Heaven. She will me missed but never forgotten.

Michelle Reynolds was truly a beautiful coworker and colleague with a quiet spirit. She will truly be missed. Sadness that I feel is because I can't see or speak to her; but I know that she is with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Knowing this brings me some comfort. I wish the peace that surpasses all understanding be given to her family and my DOES family during this difficult time.

Michele Reynolds was a lovely person with a beautiful spirit; we shared small talk, laughs and our faith almost every morning around 6:30 am. Her smile was contagious, her words of encouragement soothing and her belief in God evident. She was a highly valuable and respected member of the workforce team and the news and effects of her passing are being felt by me, as her former colleague as well as her current co-workers.
Michele was a kind and diligent employee whose walk demonstrated purpose. She had a wonderful sense of humor that she willingly shared; but when it came time to get the job done it was no laughing matter; she was serious; always on point and would always rise to the occasion! Michele understood the meaning of the word "team." She was always more focused on the good of the agency and the department than on her own benefit. She carried out her work with excellence and the significance of her contributions were demonstrated in her performance. Her knowledge, keen eye for detail, penchant for excellence and diligence in managing the labor exchange system and ensuring the compliance of the FLC job orders led to positive performance outcomes and her work will not soon be forgotten.
Please accept my sincere condolences. Michele was an angel in disguise and I am better for having known her. For those of us that had the privilege of calling her "friend" we were humbled by her kindness, energy and compassion to everyone around her.
Michele will be greatly missed. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy,
Sheree Finley
