Obituary

Midge Pearce Hill, of Kingwood, Texas, formerly of Houston and Conroe, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 12, 2010. Midge had a warm heart and lived a vibrant life. She was a world traveler and loved hosting lavish parties. She had a generous and giving spirit. Midge studied nursing at Texas Tech and after graduation, worked as a surgical nurse. She was a pioneer of her time and was awarded Houston Club Woman of the Year in 1959. She chaired numerous charity committees including the Houston Heart Gala and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Midge Pearce Hill, of Kingwood, Texas, formerly of Houston and Conroe, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 12, 2010. Midge had a warm heart and lived a vibrant life. She was a world traveler and loved hosting lavish parties. She had a generous and giving spirit. Midge studied nursing at Texas Tech and after graduation, worked as a surgical nurse. She was a pioneer of her time and was awarded Houston Club Woman of the Year in 1959. She chaired numerous charity committees including the Houston Heart Gala and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. One of her greatest achievements was founding the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Houston in honor of her deceased son. Midge was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Houston and enjoyed volunteering on numerous committees.
Midge is preceded in death by her first husband, TJ Hudson, second husband, Benton Fisher Hill, and her son, Benton Fisher Hill, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hill Standifer of Taylor, Texas, Debra Hill McKinney and her husband, Richard McKinney, of Kingwood, grandchildren Jonathan McKinney and his wife, Kimberly, of Edgewater, Florida, Peter McKinney and his wife, Cynthia, of Nolensville, Tennessee, and Laurie Townsend Williams, and her husband, Jeremy, of Kingwood. She has seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Houston, at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17. Dr. Bill Heston will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter.
