Mike passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the age of 58. He was born in Huron, California to the late Juan De La Cruz and Maria de los Angeles De La Cruz. Mike was raised in Firebaugh and graduated from Dos Palos High School, class of 1977.
After graduating, Mike moved to Fresno where he worked as an inside salesman in the refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning industry. During his 35-year career, Mike worked for Pameco Air, Thermal Products, United Refrigeration and finally RSD (Refrigeration Supplies Distributor.) He took pride in his work, expanding his knowledge in the trade and maintained a positive rapport with his customers.
Mike's passion for running was evident at an early age. His passion increased in high school and he often ran the 14 miles to visit his high school sweetheart Margaret, who lived in Dos Palos. He also enjoyed playing golf and was a huge fan of Fresno State Football and loved supporting the Bulldogs with his family.
Mike is survived by his wife Margaret; sons Paul and Daniel; daughters Jackie and Michelle and her husband Hamilton; Six grandchildren; God-daughter Stefanie; God-son John; Brothers Jesse and his wife Ines, Tony and his wife Naty, Manuel and his wife Vicki; Sisters Pat and her husband Frank, Vera and her husband Rico, Rica and her husband Ralph, Rosie and her husband Mario; 31 nieces and nephews and 40 great-nieces and nephews.
Mike's family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Staff of Clovis Community Medical Center for their outstanding care they provided to Mike and his family while there.
