Mildred "Millie" (Maffei) Selvitella died on Monday, June 19, 2017, at age 76 in Cambridge. She had been having health problems for several years but usually recovered. She was the daughter of the late Ermelinda and Alfred Maffei of Boston, and loving wife of the late Henry Selvitella of Boston. She is survived by her sister, Marie, family and many friends.
Millie was a retired librarian from the Medford Library, and for many years was secretary to cartoonist Al Capp. She was well-known for her poetry and writings and recently was part of the Cambridge River Festival on June3, 2017, where she read two of her poems. We will all miss her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28th at 10:00am in Sacred Heart Church, 12 North Square, Boston. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

I was so saddened to learn this morning that dear Millie had died. We had been close friends since our first meeting in 1969. We shared so much in our lives over the years, even after I moved away from Cambridge. I will miss her very much.
