Mildred (Millie) Eva Riley Brown, age 95 formerly of Killeen, passed away October 19 in Longview. A graveside service for Mrs. Brown will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 23 at Killeen Memorial Park. Mildred was born March 22, 1918 in Mansfield, Arkansas to William Moore and Dessie Modella (Phillips) Riley. She met Vern Brown and they married on November 3, 1942. Millie was an army wife during WWII and was active in NCO Wives Club as well as many activities to support the war effort. Mildred (Millie) Eva Riley Brown, age 95 formerly of Killeen, passed away October 19 in Longview. A graveside service for Mrs. Brown will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 23 at Killeen Memorial Park.

Mildred was born March 22, 1918 in Mansfield, Arkansas to William Moore and Dessie Modella (Phillips) Riley. She met Vern Brown and they married on November 3, 1942.
Millie was an army wife during WWII and was active in NCO Wives Club as well as many activities to support the war effort. She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Bob Gray Post 9132, Veterans of Foreign Wars. After WWII, she and her husband Vern were stationed in France for several years, during which time they traveled extensively in Europe and the British Isles. She was also a champion bowler, and competed in tournaments across the USA. She bowled a perfect 700 game and was a member of Les Dames de 700. She won many bowling trophies, which she eventually donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Killeen. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, in Killeen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; her parents; three brothers, John D. Riley , William Riley, and Thomas Arnold Riley; two sisters, Laura Ann Stough and Euretta (Rita) Aurelio.

Survivors include her nephew, Roger Kendall Riley, of Little Rock, Arkansas; niece Linda Ann Holliday, of Longview, Texas; niece Karen Weaver of Knoxville, Tennessee; nieces Joyce Gassen and Anita Franks, nephews Mark and Michael Riley and sister-in-law Mary Riley, all of of Topeka, Kansas; niece Ginger Brawley of Hialeah, Florida, and nephew Gary Riley of Yuba City, California; great nieces and nephews Ginger Gonzalez of Colleyville, Texas, Greg Holliday of Houston, Texas, and Grant Holliday of Dietkon, Switzerland; great-great nieces and nephews Stephanie and Matthew Gassen, and Amy White, of Topeka, Kansas, and one great-great-niece, Trillian White.

For the past six years she has resided in Longview, Texas.
