Mildred Theresa Romero Michel
November 11, 1925 ~ February 12, 2013

Mildred Theresa Romero Michel, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away February 12, 2013 in Morgan City at the age of 87.
Mildred was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a life time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mildred, "Millie" as many knew her, was a woman of many talents, a published Poet, a seamstress for Kahn-Russo Men's Clothing Store, and a bookkeeper for Phillip Morris furniture store. Mildred enjoyed reading, cooking, dancing and many years ago bowling on the Eager Beaver's Bowling league. Mildred's greatest pleasures in life were being a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She also loved sharing family stories of long ago.
Mildred is survived by her sons Lovelace Joseph Michel Jr. and his wife Catherine Oliver of Berwick, and Michael Peter Michel and his wife Tessie Rhodes Michel of Morgan City; her daughter Toni Jean Michel Svoboda of Morgan City; her grandchildren Marie Michel, Tommy Michel, Megan Savoie, Matthew Michel, Brett Michel, Eli Holley, and Tyler Holley; her eleven great-grandchildren; her brother Gerald Romero and his wife Shirley of Bayou Vista; and her sister Jeanette Beadle of Berwick.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Lovelace Joseph Michel Sr.; parents Clemier Romero and Louise Doty Romero; three brothers Samuel, AC "Ace", and Donald Romero; and two sisters Lucy Falgout, and Patricia Ebling.
Pallbearers to serve will be Lovelace J. Michel, Jr., Michael Peter Michel, Toni Michel Svoboda, Tommy Michel, Matthew Michel, Brett Michel, Eli Holley and Tyler Holley.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Friday, February 15, 2013, from 9:00 am until 11:00 at Hargrave Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am in The Hargrave Funeral Home Chapel.
Mildred will be laid to rest in The St. Joseph The Worker Cemetery.

L.J., Michael, and Toni,
Your mother was a special lady. She leaves behind many memories. I still remember our Sunday dinners at Grandmaw Michel's house and all of us playing in the yard, laughing and running after each other. When our parents die it is like a history book closes. Imagine all the events and things she witnessed in her lifetime.
Sorry for your lost and remembering her smiling face.
