Mildred Julia Schechter, passed away November 20, 2012. She was 96 years old. Mildred was born in Berwyn, Illinois on June 28, 1916 to Frank and Bessie Hospodka. She kept the financial books for Chicago Lawndale Biscuit Co, which her father owned. On a vacation trip , the family loved San Diego so well that they all moved to the city. Mildred was an excellent cook. She and her husband joined a ballroom dance club in Chula Vista.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharron Burns, 5 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grand Children. She was preceded in death by her husband Lorence Schechter, and daughter Carol Buckus.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Goodbody Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at Ascension Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m.Thursday, November 29, 2012, with burial following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
