Miles David Johnson, 89, of Duluth, passed away July 11, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth. Miles was born May 4, 1925 in Jackson, Minnesota to Carl Z. and Grace Johnson. Miles attended and graduated from the Jackson High School and served his country in the Navy during WWII as a Petty Officer Corpsman and was honorably discharged in 1952. He attended the University of Minnesota graduating with a B.A. degree in business. He married Elaine Joyce Kiecher December 22, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian, MN. Miles David Johnson, 89, of Duluth, passed away July 11, 2014 at Solvay Hospice House, Duluth.

Miles was born May 4, 1925 in Jackson, Minnesota to Carl Z. and Grace Johnson.

Miles attended and graduated from the Jackson High School and served his country in the Navy during WWII as a Petty Officer Corpsman and was honorably discharged in 1952. He attended the University of Minnesota graduating with a B.A. degree in business. He married Elaine Joyce Kiecher December 22, 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian, MN.
Miles was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Duluth as a Deacon and Elder of the church. He was also a counselor for many years at Bethel Bible Camp in Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Mark; and brother Rodney.

Miles is survived by his loving wife Elaine; daughter Chari (Kevin) McBride of Alborn; son, Ross (Pam) of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Kelly, Madison, and Taylor.

Visitation: 1pm until the 2pm Memorial Service on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Second St., Duluth with Rev. John Pressler officiating. Military Honors by the Duluth Honor Guard. Inurnment will be at Park Cemetery.
