Minnie E. Peters (Pelkey), 79 years old of Watkins Glen, NY passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at home. Minnie was born July 29, 1934 in Lawrenceville, PA to Clarence and Luella Pelkey. She has been married for 46 years to Norman Peters. Minnie died after a long battle of cancer. For many years, she enjoyed work as a waitress and even owned NOR-MINS Resturant in Watkins Glen. She worked for Curly's Family Resturant where she met many folks and will be sadly missed, and finally retiring from Walmart. She was predeceased by her father, Clarence Pelkey; Step Father and Mother, Kenneth and Luella Fisher and brother, Ronald Fisher. Minnie is survived by her husband, Norman Peters; children, Steven (Nancy) Crout, Keith (Karen) Crout, Linette (Daryl) Vary, Anthony Peters, and William (Yolanda) Peters; Twelve Grandchildren; Twenty Great Grandchildren; brothers, Walter (Cindy) and Carl Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, 119 Fifth St., Watkins Glen, where her funeral service will follow at 7pm with the Rev. Ann Campbell. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Lakeview Cemetery in Watkins Glen. In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made in Minnie's memory to Care First, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830 or to the American Cancer Society, 1801 W Water St., Suite B, Elmira, New York 14905.
