Mitchell H. Guetzke, 71 of Rockton, passed away November 25, 2013. Born on June 18, 1942 in Beloit WI, he was the son of the late Harry O. and Maxine (Lewis) Guetzke. He married Katherine "Joanne" Elmer on July 1, 1967 in Beloit, WI. A Vietnam War Veteran of the U.S. Army, Mick retired from American T.V. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golf, wood working, building military models such as ships and planes; and most of all, spending time with his family. He is lovingly survived by his wife of 46 years, Joanne Guetzke; children, Brad Guetzke and Amy (Eric Pearson) Sowl; grandchildren, Nicklaus Sowl,...

A Vietnam War Veteran of the U.S. Army, Mick retired from American T.V.
An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golf, wood working, building military models such as ships and planes; and most of all, spending time with his family.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 46 years, Joanne Guetzke; children, Brad Guetzke and Amy (Eric Pearson) Sowl; grandchildren, Nicklaus Sowl, Alexandria Sowl, and Christopher Pearson; sister Ruth McClain; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Predeceased by his parents; son, Christopher Guetzke, four sisters, and several beloved dogs.
Funeral service 6 p.m. Saturday, November 30, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park; with Pastor Wendell Maynard officiating. Visitation 5 p.m. to time of service. Online condolences may be submitted at sunsetfhmemgardens.com
