Obituary

Modesto L. Nicolini, 97, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. He was born in Readsboro, VT to the late Arthur and Giustina (Armani) Nicolini in 1917. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Modesto was a machine operator for Mead Containers of Syracuse for 22 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post 2893, the Tyrol Club of Solvay, the Solvay Seniors and a communicant of St. Cecilia Church. Modesto is survived by his wife of 68 years, the...
Modesto L. Nicolini, 97, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Modesto is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Sylvia Castellini, his son, Arthur, of Solvay and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Saturday July 26, 2014 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue, and 9:00 am at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Interment and burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
