ASHWORTH, Mollie ODNW, was born in Rochdale, Lancashire, England and died peacefully July 31, 2012 in Vancouver, B.C at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her parents, Tim & Florence Ashworth, step-mother Edna, and brother Robert. Mollie will be missed by her brother Peter Ashworth and sister's-in-law, Barbara & Kath, along with many nieces, nephews, friends & "extended family". After a long career as the District Midwife in Rochdale, Mollie immigrated to Canada in 1976 and in 1980, became a citizen, settling in Vancouver. ASHWORTH, Mollie ODNW, was born in Rochdale, Lancashire, England and died peacefully July 31, 2012 in Vancouver, B.C at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her parents, Tim & Florence Ashworth, step-mother Edna, and brother Robert. Mollie will be missed by her brother Peter Ashworth and sister's-in-law, Barbara & Kath, along with many nieces, nephews, friends & "extended family". After a long career as the District Midwife in Rochdale, Mollie immigrated to Canada in 1976 and in 1980, became a citizen, settling in Vancouver. As a LPN, Mollie joined the staff in the maternity ward at Grace Hospital, Vancouver and was there until her retirement in 1988. Her retirement years were spent busy with her many positions at Saint David of Wales, Anglican Church in Vancouver and her faithful involvement within the Diocese of New Westminster. Mollie's friends and family will come together at her home parish of Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11:00am, to give thanks for Mollie's life and to celebrate a wonderful friend. Memorial donations can be made in Mollie's name to any of the following of her favorite programs; The Care + Share Ministry of the Diocese of New Westminster, The Ministry of Christ Church Cathedral, B.C's Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Society.
