Mollie Burdell Taylor died at her home on Sunday, March 31, 2013.
She was born in Augusta on October 18, 1933 to Marguerite Bothwell Burdell and William Schweigert Burdell. She was the loving wife of Michael Justice Taylor for 59 years.
A graveside service will be held at Summerville Cemetery on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11am with The Very Reverend Robert Fain officiating. Friends may call at the residence on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5-7pm.
Mollie is survived by her husband and four children; Marguerite Taylor Nixon and her husband Alex, Michael Justice Taylor, Jr. and his wife Eleanor, Mary Taylor Christian and Cannon Butler Taylor all of Augusta, seven grandchildren, Mary Dudley Northey and her husband Mark, Savannah, GA , Marguerite Taylor Stulb, Austin TX, William Archer Stulb, Michael Justice Taylor, III, Richard Harison Taylor, Caroline Burdelle Christian, and William Ramsey Christian all of Augusta, GA, her sister, Ann Carter Burdell Boardman of Augusta, GA, brother, William Schweigert Burdell, Jr. of St Simons Island, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Tubman High School and attended Gulf Park College in Gulfport, MS and the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and was active for many years including president of the Women of the Church. In addition she enjoyed membership in The National Society of the Colonial Dames, The Huguenot Society of South Carolina, Sand Hills Garden Club, Suburban Garden Club, Augusta Country Club and the Augusta Assembly. She was the co owner of The Fashion Court for several years. She supported many charities and served on the board of Child Enrichment.

I was so very sad to hear that Mollie had died..even though I knew that she was terminally ill, it still is a shock. I will always remember what good times we had together. Much love and prayers to all of tge family, and I am so sorry to miss her funeral, but won't get home from Virginia until Sunday.
