Monica Bratz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2017.

July 2, 1963 - June 7, 2017
Monica Paez Bratz, 53, died peacefully at home, in the loving arms of her husband and sons, the morning of June 7, 2017. Having lived her brief life fully, always surrounded by her adoring family and friends, she was our star. We revolved around her light, warmth and beauty. She claimed every holiday, birthday, special and not so special occasion, opening her home to each with great joy. Her happiness was intrinsic and easily spread to others. She was intelligent, able to see clearly what was important and her life reflected that beautifully. Her spirit never succumbed to the brain tumors that took her life, our gift from God. Her absence is nearly a mortal wound. She is survived by her husband Steven Bratz, sons Adam & Erik, parents Alma & Gilbert Paez, brothers Gary Paez (Becky) and Michael Paez (Branda), numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 4:00 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Service to begin at 5:00 pm.

My beautiful Auntie M, she was like her disco ball, a definite necessity for any occasion, spinning around full of fun, and her light shined on everyone. Her laugh was contagious and she always had that fabulous hair! I guess you had to leave us early, to plan some extravagant party, for when we all meet again. I feel extremely lucky to have had this wonderful woman in my life. We're not blood, but she will always be my favorite Aunt. You will be missed immensely.

Dear Gilbert and Alma,

I am so sorry. Monica was a princess. Her smile was contagious just like her mom's. I will never forget her kindness during a hard time in my dad's life.
She will be missed. Our prayers go out to you, Alma, Gilbert, her brothers, sons and dear husband. " Remember, because God lives, you can face tomorrow" She is with her heavenly father.

I've been trying to think about what to say about my dear friend Monica for two weeks. I will miss her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, funny insights about being the Mom of boys, her sweet-natured personality, her easy-going way of doing anything and everything, but mostly now, her presence.

I'm glad I saw her in the past year even though I didn't realize I was saying goodbye.

Rest well my good and gentle servant. May the Angels welcome you to Paradise. We'll see each other again.

My love to Steven, Adam and Erik

Over the many years, as Blackhawk sisters - what few moments we shared either at a reunion or a private message on facebook - they were always special. You were always a special friend - one who I knew would always make me smile. The love you and Steven have is more rare than the rarest gem on earth. I love you bunches. I also know that the pain is gone - so there is some comfort in knowing that - my love to you Monica... to Steven & to Gary and to your families. - Love Annette Wiseman
