Dear Family of Dr Alex:
I never met Dr. Alex. Our communication over the past 2+ years was via telephone. I scheduled hearings with Dr. Alex for our Omaha office and every conversation I had with him was a joy. Every time I called he sounded as if he was thrilled to hear from Me. Always, around the business of our calls, he made time for a few words of greeting, a few words of sharing, a few words of parting, and a 'dear' thrown in for good measure. Always he left me feeling happy to have shared those few moments in my work day with him. The last time I talked to him could not have been more than a short time before he died. He said he was ill and to hold off calling him for a few weeks. I asked if it was bad and he said yes, he feared it was. I said Oh Dr. Alex I hope you will be well soon, and he said he hoped so too and to pray for him, which I did. Unfortunately, due to budget issues, I left work shortly after this and today found out after visiting the office that he had passed away. So I am so sorry this message is late. I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus. He was a dear, sweet man, who made a beautiful impression in my memory, who will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed.

We loved him, and your mom. It was so much fun to have him around with his other colleagues - teasing and laughing in the doctors' lounge at the old Jewish Hospital. I can still see him with Drs. Charnas, Kotner, Hulbert, Chinsky and Berman. What a group of wonerful people. You dad was special and often spoke of his kids but most of all, of his beloved Pearl.
