Bagwell, Rev. Morris S. Bagwell (Deet), age 68, of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord on February 2, 2011. Morris passed away at Mercy Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Morris was born June 26, 1942. He grew up in Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frankie Bagwell, both of Kingsport, TN.; brother, Larry Bagwell, also of Kingsport. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy Bagwell; daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Randy Trent, of Jefferson City; daughter, Lakieta Bagwell, of Knoxville; grandsons, Erik and wife Danielle Trent, of Jefferson City, Benjamin Bagwell, of Knoxville;...
Bagwell, Rev. Morris S. Bagwell (Deet), age 68, of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord on February 2, 2011. Morris passed away at Mercy Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Morris was born June 26, 1942. He grew up in Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frankie Bagwell, both of Kingsport, TN.; brother, Larry Bagwell, also of Kingsport.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy Bagwell; daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Randy Trent, of Jefferson City; daughter, Lakieta Bagwell, of Knoxville; grandsons, Erik and wife Danielle Trent, of Jefferson City, Benjamin Bagwell, of Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Kenzli Mae Trent, of Jefferson City; brother, Martin and wife Kim Bagwell of Kingsport; sister, Ruth Dingus; several cousins, nieces and nephews; his church family at Bethesda Christian Fellowship in Knoxville, where he was pastor for 19 years; and a host of friends all over the world.
Morris served proudly in the Marine Corps. He worked 25 years for Xerox before leaving to be in ministry full-time.
Morris loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his life-long friends, Jim Mead and Paul Cowell. He loved his church family that spanned several countries, as well as his mission work and the people he met in Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, and South Africa.
The family will receive friends at Redemption Harvest Church, 7824 Old Maynardville Pike, Friday, February 4, from 5:00 to 8:30pm.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, also at Redemption Harvest Church. The Rev. Paul Cowell and Jim Mead will be officiating. Interment in Lynnhurst Cemetery will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bethesda Christian Fellowship to be distributed to his friends in the mission field. The family would like to thank Dr. Russell DeVore and James Wolfenbarger FNP, and their staff at Tennessee Cancer Specialists.
